Notes

Most of the photos on this site are mine, however a few were taken by colleagues or family.  I've credited them in the photo label, and thank them sincerely.

I've given plants both their common and botanical names.  If you reckon I've identified something incorrectly, let me know.

While I've focused on Australian plants, much of the ecological content would broadly apply in other fire-prone regions of the world. 

​

I've linked to some academic literature, and will continue to do so as I develop the Fire Ecology 101 aspect of the website.  In most cases the link leads to an article's abstract; I have tried to choose articles where the abstract is informative and to the point.  Obtaining the complete text of an article is not always possible for free: in my experience only about half the fire ecology literature is open source.  Students and others with a formal association with a university will be able to access paywall-restricted literature through their institution.
